A Bit About My Art
Alison Evans Killam is a contemporary mixed-media artist based in Calgary, Alberta. Her work reflects the raw and organic essence of the land that surrounds her home, capturing its strength, vitality, and ever-changing character.
Working in mixed media is an exploration of layering, texture, and mark-making. Alison often builds her paintings through a process of adding and removing elements—revealing underlying passages that suggest the history of the work. Shapes, patterns, and textures emerge through the use of varied tools and techniques, creating surfaces that invite viewers to look closer and discover what lies beneath.
